can accounts in family both use the same alias

I have a standard plan (a@mailbox.org) and I created a family account for my partner (b@mailbox.org). She can also sign in.
To my main account i have created the external alias family@mydomain.com . Emails to that alias reach my mailbox account (a@mailbox.org). I can also send from this account using a client like thunderbird.
However, can my partner also send from the alias family@mydomain.com?
How to set this up.
